Grace Schwarz is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in video art, performance, and installation. Her work is guided by interests in entomology, baseball, religion, family tradition, and history, often discussing how these subjects are rooted within the same place.
Through engagements with self-identity, insect media, and the sociologies of spaces, Schwarz confronts where we overlap with each other as individuals, families, species, and societal members. Bouncing between the private and the public, Schwarz attempts to establish a resting place in common pockets of space where extensions of the self can be found, in a hard-wired and often roped-off world.
Grace is currently based out of Richmond, Virginia, working as an artist after graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Art + Technology. Her work has been included in festivals and galleries throughout South Florida and the Eastern United States. She has spent time working in various art fields, as well as developing her practice in international art residencies.
